The Time Spent Poorly Show!
The Time Spent Poorly Show! Why listen to the low hum of the dark void we call a universe, when you can listen to the sultry rambles of Edwardo “The Manager,” Derek, Hudds, and The Beard? They’ll help you flex those pop-culture chops, and you’re guaranteed to have at least ONE awkward moment when you’re listening, though it will most likely be because you’ve accidentally laughed out loud in public. Did we mention this is a comedy podcast? So take a segue from real life, and spend your time poorly with us each week as we talk pop-culture in all it’s glorious forms from the 80’s to the present. Not much is off limits and there’s little you won’t relate to. Hailing from the great Pacific Northwest, we offer a unique and oft times entertaining perspective about the movies we grew up watching from the 80’s to what we watch and laud today. EDWARDO “THE MANAGER”
Ward started the first incarnation of “Basement Boyz” in April of 2008. After around 3 years and 146 episodes, the show went on hiatus…for six + years. About two or three years into the hiatus, Ward decided the show was officially over, but hoped to at one point start producing some kind of podcast.
In the Fall of 2017, whilst riding the elliptical in his shop gym, he took notice of the underutilized space in the corner of his shop, in addition to the shelving that he imagined the old “Basement Boyz” banner would cover perfectly. After a brief text exchange with former co-host Derek, and getting the Mrs. approval, the wheels were in motion, and less than two weeks later, Ward and Derek returned to comfortable territory behind their mics. in April of 2019 the show’s name officially changed to The Time Spent Poorly Show!
Derek co-hosts “Basement Boyz 2” with Ward. He also hosts “The Sports Program on TSPN” with Zach Swan and Alisha Alexander also broadcast on the Lewis Clark State College radio station, KLCZ 88.9.
Derek has done standup comedy and worked in the podcast medium off and on for the past 10 years.
In early 2009, after being introduced to Ward by then “Basement Boyz” co-host Josh C., Derek was asked to join the program. A short time later he was brought on as co-host. This lasted a short while and Derek left the show. later that year Derek rejoined the show, quickly becoming full time co-host, taking Josh’s place upon his departure from the show. A history of all the chance encounters that led to “Basement Boyz” in every era can be heard on episode 10 of the show with guest and former co-host Nathan Betts.
